Political aspects

The act of giving education using robots has been discussed many times in politics. Several debates and researches end with the conclusion that it can be very efficient. Stil no decision is made about this. You do not see robots in schools that are teaching students. Do people not like robots and is it a priority or just something for the future?

First of all, people are considering robotics in education, because they do not make mistakes. All children will be teached the same way and there will be no difference in education. On top of this results show that a much higher percentage of the students that used robots as help, passed their exams. However, there are still many debates about these results and no country has made a decision yet if they trust robots.

To focus on the politics of this topic, many countries have had a discussion about whether they want to use robots in education or not. However what many people do not know is that in many cases they come to the decision to forget about it for some time. Many want to wait and assume it is something for the future and not for now. They say robots are not advanced enough and there are to many reasons why human teachers are way better.

"We have to wait untill the right time arrives". This quote was said by a American politician to support his statement that robots can't be used to teach. Children will be effected by robots in different ways. These ways are explained in the other aspects.

Many companies are building new robots. They want to create robots that have the ability to have feelings and therefore be capable to do several jobs. One of these jobs is being a teacher. No company has been succesful in this, but some are very close to building a perfect robot.

However, before these robots can be used, they have to be approved by the government. I have looked for laws about this or any treaty, but so far there are none. Therefore, I think it is not as important as other subjects. I did find out, that especially in Europe and America robots in education is a more important topic.

This is a tedtalk given by a student from the American University of Sharjah about robotics in education.
